Heartwood is your community forest. Whether you’re a community group, school, parish council or local organisation, there are real opportunities to get involved in creating something that your community can be proud
of for generations.

When communities help plan, plant and look after trees, they develop a genuine sense of ownership and pride in their local environment. We’ll help you make it happen.

Our stories

Tibshelf Ponds and Greenway

Two nearby green spaces in Tibshelf, both shaped by the area’s mining past, have now been brought forward together with thoughtful woodland creation led by Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest.

Heage Primary School, Belper

Heage Primary School is set in a rural landscape, with open playing fields and a strong connection to its local community. Like many primary schools, it is a place where outdoor space plays an important role and where there was clear potential to introduce trees that would grow alongside the pupils.
